Las Plumas High School Senior Wins Prestigious Congressional Art Award
In an impressive showcase of young talent, Las Plumas High School senior Kayla Grozea was announced as the winner of the Spring 2024 Congressional Art Competition. Congressman Doug LaMalfa took to the stage in Northern California to reveal the victor, shining a spotlight on Grozea’s captivating artwork titled “Soaring Above Lake Oroville Dam.”
The competition, which aimed to highlight the critical role of dams and lakes in water management, found a fitting champion in Grozea. Her piece not only showcased her immense artistic talent but also paid homage to the environmental and historical significance of Lake Oroville in Butte County. “Soaring Above Lake Oroville Dam” was celebrated by Congressman LaMalfa for its ability to encapsulate the essence of the competition’s theme flawlessly.
